I’m well aware that this album, recorded in my bedroom on an old Boss BR-8 between 2002 and 2005, is probably unlistenable to anyone but me. These rough, raw sketches were originally produced to present my songs and arrangement ideas to my rock band, Walrus. Most of the songs on this album never made it out of the rehearsal room. Musically, 2002-2005 were very early years for me. What you hear on these recordings is my first attempts at songwriting, lead vocals, guitar solos, and sound production – everything here is an experiment. These songs were probably all written and recorded on the same day, often under the influence of something, and always late at night. For me, listening to them is like listening to the past. After listening to them recently, I decided to share this musical snapshot of my 20-year-old self with the world, or at least the few who may find some interest in it. So imagine the drums, forgive the bum notes and try to listen past the ugly frequencies.
